Please explain this letter if you can , it dosen’t make any sense what-so-ever. Where is the rest of the pages. The only thing I could read was the name Bobby Crede. Was this in Vernons papers or Lollys?
I think it says Mother would get her a skirt and 3 tablets. Then she drew a picture of what she thought Vernon’s girlfriend would look like. I don’t know what the other drawing is at the bottom. Bobby Crede must have been in her class with 3 other people???? How old were you Lolly when you wrote this. I love it!!!
I think this is the second page of a Christmas thank you letter, I sent to Vernon when I was in the 3rd grade. I would have just turned eight years old. Bobby Crede went to Oak Grove for the first time that year, and I was really smitten with him!!ha ha He was so cute. Anyway the first page, was a continuation of what I had received for Christmas. I don’t remember who gave me this letter, but it was just a few years ago. Naomi might remember something about how I got it. I had drawn a picture of Florence, and ask Vernon, if it looked like her, I guess. I don’t remember the letter having all the black markings on it. Does that help you Cleo?
The letter is really old and I imagine the black looking area is actually where the paper has turned brown (aged). I am surprised you had real lined paper to write on. Must have been one of the three taBlets.Haha. It’s good hand writing for a 3rd grader!
I guess “rite” should have been spelled “write soon, love Loyola. I am surprised that I could spell that good at that age. ha There were 3 in my class. Marilyn,Myself, and Bobby. Wonder what happened to the first page. Wish Vernon could comment on this.
Vernon told me he didn’t remember the letter. So He couldn’t comment one way or another. I guess he didn’t have the letter. Someone else must have turned the letter in. Do you suppose that maybe the letter was never mailed?
I wonder if I would be smarter if mom had married Bobby Crede? Guess I know who to watch for if anything ever happens to dad. In the little picture below it looks like a big pencil etched cross. Our family has certainly been blessed in the cross of Jesus. SS

I think it is rite. As in “that’s all for rite now.”

There should have been a period after, “Mother said she would buy me a skirt. Then I continue to tell him about the other 3 tablets I got. Ha

I’m not sure how I ended up with only the second page of that. I wonder how many people have something that they wrote in 3rd grade?

I’ll bet all of our nieces and nephews have 3rd grade letters or written work of some kind. It would be fun to see those!
