Brothers bud “Erhardt and Felix” with their cousin Pearl Ehrhardt. Pearl took a lot of pictures of our family that we wouldn’t have if she hadn’t done this. Pearl is still alive and lives at the Heisinger Home Bud and Felix have both been gone about 10 years.

Great pictures of just two of our family’s WW2 servicepersons, my Uncle “Bud” on the left of their cousin Pearl, and my daddy Felix on the right – with just one stripe in the Army Air-Corps, long before he had all his Air Force Tech Sgt. stripes. Felix never spoke of what got him his TWO Bronze Stars for Meritorious Combat Duty.Until someone saw to it that his DD-214 was published on the Sommerer Family Website, I must relay here that Mom Carol Sommerer spoke of his Flying Tigers cargo-plane(he had the tiger-patch at home) being told to her by Dad, years after they married that it had been shot up pretty bad. I’m not sure if that was during the “Berlin Airlift” or the “North Africa Campaign”(Cairo, Egypt; Saudi Arabia; and Tehran, Iran – ALL good allies of the United States since then) – Or Both. God Bless them and Cousin Pearl.

Burma according to Felix. Less than 1/2 came back out. He was probably 19 years old. Less than 40% came back out
