Correspondence from Uncle Felix and Aunt Carol (part 10)

December 1, 2014 by Lloyd Jr. 18 Comments

[This one doesn’t have a date, but maybe someone can deduce when it would be. There are some clues to work with.]

[This was on the back of the letter. It looks like my Dad’s handwriting to me, but I don’t think he was good enough at spelling to do this. On the other hand, maybe he was working out a system. What do you think?]

Very puzzling back page! It starts out with CHRISTMAS cranberry’s which make me think it was a shopping list. But the words beloquent that have nothing to do with cooking. My guses is that someone was working on a crossword puzzle.

See Bena, it happens to me too! Auto correct changed “below” to beloquent! I didn’t even know that was a word! Haha.

The handwriting is mothers. I am guessing that Clara Hahn is one of her club members and she is working on a puzzle. they did a lot of fun things . They also traded seeds a lot.

Before Felix was married and I lived at home, for Christmas. We would each get 20.00. Does anyone else remember this? For me this money went to the bank. this is what payed for anything I needed in High School, or 4-H or anything else.

Each word that Mother wrote starts with a letter in the word Christmas!! Both column of words do that and the sentence also, each word in her sentence starts with a letter in Christmas. It must have been a game she was playing. Check it out!!!

After I looked at it for about 10 seconds, it came to me, I could see it. But sadly not smart!

That’s amazing that you figured that out Lolly! Now here’s mine, and I challenge everyone to try it. Cleo has ridden into St. Louis to make Aaron’s Santa. Who would have thought that Mother would have us playing games this many years after she is gone.

Clearly the next thing to do is write your own Acrostic Poem about Christmas and share it.

Very sentimental and awe struck at what Aunt Naomi pointed out that she has powers beyond the grave to lead us in a Christmas game. I always knew she had super powers!
