Confirmation and Marriage Certificates

April 8, 2022 by Lloyd Jr. 2 Comments

My mom sent these to me and told me to put them on the website. Since you have to do what your mom tells you to do, here they are:

I think Aunt Cleo decoupaged these several decades ago. Were they hanging on the wall in the dining room in grandma’s house? Here’s the PDF document that my mom sent to me if you need a night quality print. Bonus points is anyone wants to translate them for us.

I think those are beautiful and sad that most church documents are so plain and un-ornamented. I didn’t know Grandma was confirmed at Trinity. Guess I should have

Wow, how did I miss this notification !
We passed your Aunt Margie’s plaque on to Thomas for our Maggie, Named after her Great Grandma, well, one of her middle names actually. We explained to them that back in the day it was a tradition to give the child the name(s) of their baptismal sponsors. Margie had 3 sponsors plus having a first name from the title of the song “Margie”. Unfortunately the ink has become so faded with time you can barely read the names. The plaque is a treasured keepsake from her Great Grandma. Thanks for reminding us of all the love and care that went into creating those keepsake plaques made by our Aunt Cleo.
