Aunt Naomi gave this to me at the family reunion, but I just got back home yesterday. If you have questions, just post them below. I’m sure she will be able to answer them.

Thank you for posting the Celebration of Life for Vince, Lloyd. The celebration is casual, laid back and “no tears”. Derrick’s Crappie Club is frying crappie and we will have other food also.
Lloyd, have you been on a wonderful vacation somewhere this past week?
I brought the choco cookies that were served Friday night at Heit’s, but someone else served the same thing on Saturday night. I thought they were better than mine. My recipe is: 2 C Sugar, 4 T cocoa, 1 stick butter, 1/2 C milk. Boil for 1 minute. Add 1 C peanut butter, 1 tsp. vanilla and 3 C oatmeal. Stir well and drop by spoonsful onto wax paper. I got this recipe from Pinterest.
After our reunion at Heits Point, we drove down to Branson to spend the week with Lauren’s Folks and the rest of her family. We had a great time with them. The highlight for me was taking them to see The Shepherd of The Hills play. I tried to convince them to go last time we were in Branson, but I couldn’t do it. This time I just bought the tickets and then they felt like they had to go.
We also went to Silver Dollar City (2 day tickets are only $5.00 more than one day) and road go-carts, went on zip-lines, played miniature golf, went hiking, boating and fishing, and got rained on A LOT! Table Rock Lake rose 10 feet while we were there.
By the way, I’ll post the traditional “Next Year’s Reunion” post on Friday.
Incidentally, if you want to read The Shepherd of the Hills, you can get a free electronic copy of the book here. The book is over 107 years old, so it is out of copyright, and so you can read it for free. I’m about 1/3 of the way through it.
Riding on a zip-line is on my bucket list. When the kids were little we saw the Shepherd of the Hills play in Branson. I had also read the book. It was so long ago, I need to read it again. All I remember from the play is a cabin burning.
Thanks for the info on Vince’s Celebration of Life Naomi and Lloyd. I gave away my copy of that book years ago. (Shepherd of the Hills). I think it would be nice to see it again. Glad to know it is still playing.
