The conservation program application (in white) is from 1967, but the photo that was included in the application is from 1942. I also included the letter that detailed the program down below. As always, click on the images to see a larger version.
Update:
You’re right, that picture of the farm is confusing. Mostly because it is wrong. whoever cut the photo out of the larger picture just missed a few lines here and there. I added the actual outline of the farm to the picture. Then, for good measure, I did the same outline on a modern picture of the farm. Then, really just because I could, I superimposed the two pictures together, so you could see some changes.

I have a million questions. Are the white fields with polka dots the plowed fields??? I am confused can someone I trust to know tell me which road starts on the road to Henley and leads to the house? Where is the house? Which road leads to Alvin’s farm? Which one is that road that went to goetzes farm? That is the road that went in front of the house and it is the road where the original house was before this one was built. Sorry I have a million more.

Where is the McGuire Land?
Naomi Vetter says
I can’t figure this out either. In the corner where the house, barn, etc., set on this picture, there is no land on the north side of the house, that would be the orchard area…very confused…

This doesn’t make any sense to me. What are the numbers for by the alphabet. Wish I understood that road.
Julie says
The alphabet with numbers by it are the area on the map and the number is how many acres. I think!

I didn’t see the farm fix until just now. Thanks! That helps a lot,but where are the creeks? I wish they showed up. Remember that little 3 corner field behind Elizabeth and Justin’s house where we grew cane to make molasses? That farm sure was shaped strange.
Naomi Vetter says
This is great! Now everything makes sense! Thanks for doing that, Lloyd.
Julie says
Very helpfull! Especially the labels of house, barn etc! It sure is laid out differently than I saw it in my minds eye! Lol!
Aunt Lolly says
I always wondered what the shape of our farm was like! That is a wonderful picture you drew for us Lloyd! It all makes sense now.Thank you.
