For Aunt Margie’s (and Grandma Margie’s and Great Aunt Margie’s and Great Great Aunt Margie’s) 90th Birthday on March 24th, Kathy thought it would be nice to throw her a “Card Shower“. So lets get those cards in the mail. Any sort of card or note would be great. If you want to include a funny story or special remembrance of Aunt Margie, that would be wonderful. If you want to let her know what your family has been up to lately, that would be swell too. Copies of old pictures would work. Really anything you want to send would be wonderful.

My plan is to take the cards, notes and stories (even copies of pictures would be nice) she receives, and put them in a nice binder/scrapbook for her to look at later, at her leisure.
I had done that for the cards and letters she had gotten when she was in the nursing home. She happened to find the binder the other day, and really enjoyed looking at all the cards and letters again. Her memory of most of the details of her stay there recovering for those two years (2006-2008) is pretty sketchy.
I’m not exactly sure if Kathy is wanting us to send the cards & letters to her for as to scrapbook them first or if that comes second. I’m sure she will chime in here and let us know. I’m including Aunt Margie’s address for now, but we might change that to Kathy’s address later:

My grandma loves getting mail! A big part of her day is monitoring when the mailman comes. She still gets the Jeff City paper to keep up with everything.
I think my mom will probably do the scrapbooking later, so it would be fine to just send the cards straight to Margie. Her family is so important to her, and those special handwritten messages and photos will mean the world to her!

Be sure to label and date the pictures.

i put a notice in my Mom’s old church bulletin (where she lived before) and she got such a kick out of hearing from people. Lloyd and Kathy you will be making her day so happy and giving us a chance to show we care.
