Mahlon came home on leave from the Air Force. He bought us each a new toothbrush and a big tube of Colgate toothpaste! This was my first toothbrush and paste. It was wonderful!! We had to use our fingers dipped in baking soda to clean our mouth and teeth. He also bought us a very good softball glove. We loved it.
The best times for us were when our older brothers and sisters and their families came home to visit. Our nieces and nephews were such joys to us.
Did we have a softball? I remember an old, red rubber ball that was kinda chewed up.
Yes we had a nice soft ball. Mahlon probably bought it with him. I was the only kid at Honey Creek with a good glove. High school was the same. I was really proud to say it was mine. I took good care of it.Naomi and Lloyd probably used it after me. When Felix and Carol would come home. from Maryland, Carol and I always played catch, She could throw really well. We had lots of fun.
