I remember Mom reading the paper about the trial of Rudolph Haughman, the man who kidnapped Charles Lindbergh’s baby.
I remember when Elizabeth and Justin were going together they would come out to our house and we would play games, cards, etc….. They always had a bag of candy with them. this was in the late 1930’s.
Aunt Lolly says
When I was small I always worried about someone putting a ladder up to our bedroom window and kidnapping and killing one of us. It was something I worried about for years. No one ever told me you had to be rich to have a child kidnapped, or I wouldn’t have thought it might happen to us. That was an awful time, To have something like that happen to your child would be next to living in hell.
Christina Rowland says
That is a big fear for a little person!
