If you’ve been reading for a while, you know that there are a few somewhat interesting pages available from the tools menu at the top of the website. The Popup Glossary isn’t one of them. This page is part of the tool that creates the cute mouse-overs whenever we type a name ( like Brittney Rowland ) in a post. I really like that feature, because it lets me know who some of the younger members of our family belong to.
Unfortunately, to have the feature, you also have to have the page. So I threw it in with the other tools, even though it’s pretty worthless by itself. As with the other tools, you’ll have to register and login before you can see it.
This is probably a good place to point out that, for simplicity, parental information always lists a single parental decedent from Adolph and Theresa. This is not the most accurate possible way to list people (in fact, it’s pretty darn inaccurate), but it is the most straight forward. Every other consistent way that we thought of to list people was quite complex. Anyway, this is just meant to give you an idea of where people fit in. It’s not meant to be a genealogy listing.

Thanks for pointing out the mouse over thing. I didn’t notice it until you told me! I was excited to use it as it was…very nice and even more convenient now that I know the mouse over trick! You are so cleaver.

One thing that I didn’t consider is that it’s a good way to look someone up if you just know their first name. I’ve done that a few times since the website went up.
And, since everyone is numbered, you can use it to see how many people are in the family. But if you do that, you have to add in the aunts and uncles.
